In looking at the Insulin Receptor and its function to accept glucose and transmit the information (Cells do talk to each other) and glucose inside the cell we can gain some insight into the transport of other substances such as Interleukins. The notion of Cell Signalling and Receptor Function MUST be introduced.

Here is a link relative to the normal function of the Insulin Receptor and cell signaling  Although detailed it can be understood better by looking at it in animation, stopping and starting  it as much as possible. A person with diabetes should now this more than there doctor who may or may not be keeping up. Look at the late 2009 clip
